Ingredients:
1 Box Devil’s Food Cake Mix
1 Box (3.9 oz) Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix
5 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
¾ Cup Oil (vegetable or canola)
1 Cup Sour Cream (or Buttermilk)
¾ Cup Brewed Coffee (cooled)
2 Cups Nestlé Toll House Chocolate Chips
Ganache Icing:
1 stick (½ cup) Salted Butter
2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
½ Box Powdered Sugar (approx. 2 cups)
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
3 Tbsp Milk
½ Cup Pecan Pieces
Instructions:
Preheat and Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a Bundt cake pan thoroughly, making sure to get into all the crevices to prevent sticking.
Mix the Batter:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: the devil’s food cake mix and instant chocolate pudding mix.
In a separate bowl, combine the wet ingredients: eggs, vanilla, oil, sour cream (or buttermilk), and brewed coffee. Mix until smooth.
Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined and smooth.
Gently fold in the 2 cups of Nestlé Toll House chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Bake the Cake:
Pour the batter into your prepared Bundt pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Invert:
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before inverting it onto a cake plate or large round platter. Let the cake cool slightly while you prepare the ganache.
Ganache Icing:
Prepare the Ganache:
In a small saucepan, melt the salted butter over low heat. Once melted, whisk in the cocoa powder until smooth and combined.
Gradually add in the powdered sugar, stirring until it thickens and becomes glossy.
Stir in the vanilla extract and milk, adjusting the consistency to your preference. Add the pecan pieces and mix well.
Drizzle Over Cake:
While the ganache is still warm, slowly pour it over the cake, letting it drizzle down the sides. The warm chocolate ganache pairs perfectly with the rich cake for an unforgettable treat.
Serve Warm:
This cake is best served warm, either right out of the oven or reheated slightly in the microwave. Pair with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the ultimate indulgence.
