– 1 loaf French bread
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 pound thinly sliced beef steak
– 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
– 1 onion, thinly sliced
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– 4 slices provolone cheese


1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
2. Cut the French bread in half lengthwise and place both halves on the prepared baking sheet.
3. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef steak and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
4. Add the thinly sliced green bell pepper, onion, and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
5. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender and the beef is cooked through.
6. Spoon the beef and vegetable mixture evenly over the cut sides of the French bread halves.
7. Top each half with 2 slices of provolone cheese.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread is toasted.
9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
