1 small red onion, thinly sliced
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon celery seeds
2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup ice cubes

Directions:

Place the cucumber and red onion slices in a large mixing bowl.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine vinegar, sugar, salt, mustard seeds, celery seeds, red pepper flakes, and minced garlic. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil.

Transfer the pickles to a jar or airtight container and refrigerate. Let them marinate for at least 24 hours before serving.
